Nearly 50 per cent of Toronto’s population of 2.7 million speak a language other than English or French.

In 2006, three Asian languages were among the top mother tongue languages: Chinese, spoken by 420,000 people ranked first; Punjabi, spoken by 138,000 ranked third and Tagalog/Filipino, spoken by 114,000 ranked fourth.

Just where and how widely are Asian languages spoken in Canada’s largest city?
